5 Reasons Why the iPhone is Not Ready for Social Networking

I love my iPhone. It is one of the best devices I have ever purchased and used. But just because it is great it doesn’t mean it is perfect. Almost every person I know who is a social media strategists, bloggers, or developer has an iPhone. Yet it is far from being the perfect device for the type of content we want to publish. Many networks like MySpace and Facebook have already offered free apps for the iPhone. In my opinion, it is only scratching the surface of how people want to interact with their networks with their mobile devices. Here are 5 reasons why the iPhone is not ready for social networking.

Reason #1: No video camera
As more and more social networks are moving towards mobile video, the iPhone only has a digital camera with no video capability. This leaves iPhone users who want to capture and publish video to rely on other cameras, laptops, and in some cases, second phones. Read more…
